Another poster said that if you sign out of your iTunes Store account, go to the app you wish to gift, and select "gift" and go through the purchase process, it will then ask you for your account information and send the gift. I haven't tried this myself, but it's worth a go.

Hi birferit. Do you mean that you've already purchased it and you cannot gift it as well? Or do you mean that you have purchased it as a gift only and cannot send it? I'm having the former problem. varjak paw's response does not help me because I am trying to gift a music album, not an app. I have tried going to the album, selecting "Gift this album" and then after I fill in all the details on the next screen, such as the recipient's email address and a message, when I click the "Next" button, I get a red error message: MZCommerceLogic.gift.error.missingProductType MZCommerceLogic.gift.error.missingAdamid MZCommerceLogic.gift.error.missingPricingParameters
I have sent a request to Apple so I'll report back if/when it is resolved.

Sign out of your itunes account, choose the album, song, etc. Choose send as gift from the drop down menu, then it will ask you to sign in and send the gift. I was having the same issue and this resolved it.
