Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

My iPod touch has no battery, and i cant open it. Its not broken it just has no battery. And it says the usb is in just no ipod touch.
Did you place the iPod in Recovery Mode as Phill said above and connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes?
Does anything show on the screen now?
No, nothing shows, like i said it has no battery. i plugged it to my iMac and it said it took to much power and disabled it. But i cant go on my ipod because it is dead.
The overpower problem indicates a hardware problem. Could be:
- a bad cable
- The dock connector in the iPod is messed up.
Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- An internal hardware problem with the iPod
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
My ipod was perfectly fine before i plugged it in to the iMac so the ipod it fine. And i've plugged it into my window computer and it was perfectly fine.
I am confused as to the current status of the iPod? Does it work and charge with the PC?
