Q: Syncing calendar between devices and icloud

I've just tried to sync my calendar from my ipod touch to icloud, to my new ipad. The calendar wouldn't push to icloud, and in trying to get that to happen, it's deleted everything! is there any way to redeem my calendar appointments???
