    Hey snsuper - I've been fighting the issue with webex and my MB and am interested in your note that it's been fixed.  How did you get that fix from webex?

    I've updated my mac to latest mac os. And with some update it was fixed... No special actions. You can try reinstall webex by remove the webex folder from Library in your homedir.

    I am only able to access webex through an invitation, and the software gets downloaded from the organization organizing the web conference. Their Mac software is from October, and does not support video on the new mbair. Snooping around on the cisco website I can't find any download that appears to be the client I have.

    Here's an exciting update to my original post about the Facetime camera not working with these applications (yes, a grueling 6 months later!)


    - WebEx v29.2 - YES! Facetime camera works


    - GoToMeeting v6.0 (if I initiate the meeting, or the person initiating the meeting is using v5.9+) - YES!, Facetime camera works


    - Skype v6.11 - YES!, Facetime camera works (first it did, then it didn't, now it does again)


    - Lync v14.0.7 (131205) - YES! Facetime camera finally works! (you have to completely uninstall the previous version of Lync, restart, and then install this version)


    So, happy to say…CASE CLOSED!!!!  Finally!!!!

    Btw, I'm running OSX 10.9.1.  The only thing I can suggest is to uninstall the app, reboot, install, then reboot again.  I had to do that with Skype anyway when I just upgraded now to v6.12 (431).  That's the best I can tell you, just stoked to have them all working on my machine at least.  I hope you can get it figured out, I know how frustrating it is!


    Thanks everyone for weighing in btw, I'm sure our discussion helped create some leverage to get this addressed by the app developers!

    I have it "figured out" as you say. It won't work. This is all BS. On our new MB Pro Retinas and on our MacBook Airs 2013, Skype does not see the camera, fresh install 10.9.1 with a fresh install of Skype Version 6.12 (431).


    It's simple, Skype chooses not to support 64bit video and Apple took out support for 32 bit video. We need Skype for video chat with our PCs, so the cure has been to cancel future Macs and order PCs. It would be nice if we could tell everyone to buy Macs so we can all use Facetime (that's what the Apple Rep suggests), but that isn't going to happen.


    Thanks to the Web Ex and go to Go to Meeting for adding support for 64bit video.


    Now to sell these Macs...

    It won't work on Newer Macs. Period. It's simple, Skype chooses not to support 64bit video and Apple took out support for 32 bit video. (Does Apple really think everyone will switch to Macs so everyone can use Facetime?)

    Perhpas moron is the one who can't figure it out and make it work. For me Skype (6.12, build 431)  video works perfectly on a new MB air ( purchased in November 2013) with OS X 10.9.1.

    It works on Skype for me too, so I don't think the name calling is necessary.

    @bradleydad That's not true, the person I did final testing with yesterday has a late 2013 MBP Retina, all applications worked for him with the Facetime camera.

    Skype is working fine on my rMBP purchased in Dec 2013.


    I've been engaged with my Cisco reps and they indicate it may be fixed in a revised version of Cisco WebEx Meeting Centre T28. I'm waiting for an update from our vendor on resolution and will post when I have a successful test.
