Then en dash and em dash, but I can't say I've ever heard of a three em dash.
Anyway, if the character is in the correct position in any given font, an em dash is Option Shift - . Like so — .
Edit: Curious and had to look it up. A three em dash is just a single em dash entered three times in a row.
Thanks, Kurt, but I need a long one, about an eighth of an inch. It looks something like this: _______. exept the peirod is below the line.I need it for a bibliography where the dash signifies the same author as the one listed immediately before. Maybe I can mak one in Tables with the cell centered, then use it in a macro. I'm just surprised it's not included in symbols or somwhere. On the other hand, I'm not surprised at all.
What I showed above was a single em dash. Typing three in a row should do what you want. It does need to be done manually like that. There is no triple length em dash in any font you can type with one keystroke.
Thanks, Kurt. That's what I suspected..
