Inverting a negative image?

I read with interest a discussion in 2010 about inverting a negative image and wondering if this can now be done with Aperture 3.4.5? I tried the curves adjustment but just did not know what I was doing! If it is not possible as a feature of Aperture can someone please explain in easy steps the "Curves Method"? Cheers.

See my answer here: Re: Aperture conversion from negatives

For the "Curves" adjustment, you need to invert the RGB curve: Drag the black values up to white and lower the white values to black.
