i am a lifeguard and jumped in with my phone it is in rice right now but it wont turn on or make noise. it wont do anything at all im scared that it is completly broken i dont know what to do please help

i also tried vaccuming it cause thats what i saw on youtube i dont know if it shorted out in the pool or if thats possible i dont know what to do or how long it stays in rice for.
The phone should have been immediately turned off and put in rice for at least four or five days before trying it out. Water is not such as a problem as water plus electricity, which shorts and fries electronics. The rice solution works sometimes, but not often. Apple will sell you a replacement phone for a reasonable fraction of the retil price if the rice fails.
