Do cards made in iPhoto ship to card recipient?

I created a card in iPhoto on my MacBookPro. I know that on my iPad, using the Cards app, the intent is that you create the card, then enter the recipient's address and it's sent to him/her. However, this doesn't seem to be the case in iPhoto. It seems like the card will be sent to me first?

I don't know what to do. If I enter the recipient's shipping address, it will be obvious if the card was not meant to go directly to the him (nothing on the envelope, perhaps the card won't even be in the envelope! etc.)

Does anyone know? Can I somehow choose what I prefer? Can I export the card to the card app and send it that way?
