can i detect my ipod using serial number?

my ipod had been stolen.. i've tried to detect it through icloud. But the ipod was offline. Does that mean my stolen ipod had been restore or it just don't have any internet connection? Are there any other way to locate my ipod?

Offline means it either has no internet data connection of any kind, or has been restored as new, wiping out your iCloud account and your iCloud login credentials. Either way, it is untrackable by any remote means.

There is no other way to track it remotely other than via iCloud, and for that to work it must still have your iCloud account on it and have a live data connection.

Report it to your carrier and your local police.

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.

- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.

- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police

- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

- Apple will do nothing without a court order
