Me and my little iPad were doing fine until today. I can no longer see or upload files from the app fileshare function. The message I see is "fileshare is off." I never turned it off. I don't know how. How can I turn it back on?

I'm unable to see files that I have previously stored, and can't upload any new ones to iTunes from my computer to view on my iPad. I'm not even talking about my Kindle. I'm going for basics, like Keynote, Pages, and so on. I also have problems with iPhoto and uploading them to my iPad, too. I have a first generation iPad. I have OS 5.1.1.

a) what happened to my files?

b) why can't I add or save files to/from my iPad anymore?

c) why won't my iPhoto sync current photo albums that have changed?

Thanks for your help!

You don't have to turn file sharing on. If you have file sharing apps, they will appear in a window under the list of apps in the apps tab of iTunes when your iPad is connected to your computer, and after you select the iPad in the sidebar.

Try something very simple. Quit iTunes, restart your computer, reboot your iPad and then start all over again.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
