I just got the new Macbook Air a day ago and have already experienced significantly slow boot up time. It takes about 3-5 minutes to get to the log in screen. I know when it was released, it was boasted that it only took seconds to start up after being turned off. Any idea on what I could do to change this or what the issue is?
Also, I just switched from a PC so have very limited knowledge on the Macbooks.

Try Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
This is done alot easier by using restart since you can see the countdown timer and then get your fingers on the keys right before shutdown. I could not get my fingers in place fast enough after hitting the on button otherwise.
