I've been having a hard time finding a screen recording option for just an active window? Does QuickTime has this option? Or should I look for an alternative?

QuickTime Player doesn't record a window, but you can record a part of the screen, that may belong to this window.
First, open the window you want to record. Then, open QuickTime Player, select File menu (on the menu bar) > New Screen Recording, and drag the cursor on the part you want to record

Do they still have that feature in quicktime 10.0 on snow leopard because when I just click new screen recording and hit record it pops up with a box saying are you sure you want to start recording screen? After recording starts you can stop by: click stop then a box that says show me, under it it says pressing command-control-esc. I just am not having any luck because all of the videos that I see of how to record screen are the old version I believe. Does anyone know how to do this now?

Does Mac os X Lion and above have the drag to record feature? If that's the case, then I might just have to upgrade to Lion. Is there a lot of features in Lion other than drag to screen record and some small things? I have a computer with Mountain Lion and there are some new features, but I don't think enough for me to upgrade my Mac Pro even though I only can get Lion, but I guess I just will have to edit some of the things if I need to when I screen record or whatever. Thanks for all of the help though.
