Locate the option/alt key on the keyboard and the trackpad button,
hold both down immediatly after selecting "Restart" under the Apple menu,
continue to hold both and the disk should pop out,
else you will see a row of icons that look like drives, then press the eject key on the keyboard repeatly.
select the arrow under the MacintoshHD icon and boot into OS X.
If neither works, take your machine to Apple.
....or just startup Itunes and under the Menu heading "Controls" go down to Eject Disc
Also if you feel comfortable doing this, you can use the "Terminal"
Go into your Applications folder, and then find and open the "Utilities" Folder. Inside double-click on the Terminal.app
Then simply type this in terminal:
drutil tray eject
- to eject the disc/tray
or
drutil tray close
- to close the tray
🙂
Try this.. Relaunch Finder.. Then shut down. Restart holding down the left mouse key.
Restarting after a Finder relaunch (and holding mouse key) didn't work for me. Need a full shut down.
