Q: I cannot get my Apple TV to show WiFi network settings.

I've had my Apple TV connected to internet using an Ethernet connection, and it had been working really good. However, it cannot connect to the internet anymore. I first thought it was a problem with my router, so I disconnected the Ethernet cable to try to connect wirelessly instead. However, even when there is not an Ethernet cable connected to my Apple TV, it reports as if it is, and does not show me the WiFi networks available (in fact, it still shows me the Ethernet connection I used to have).

I tried resetting the Apple TV, restarting it, unplugging it for up to 10 minutes and connecting it back, connecting it with the mini USB port to my computer and restoring it to factory default settings, but still it shows as if it was connected through the Ethernet port.

I then tried to connect it again through the Ethernet port to a router that I am sure is connected to the internet, but I go back to my original problem... which is that it says that it cannot connect to the internet.

Has anybody had this same problem?... if so, how can this be fixed?

Thank you.

I have the same issue an I've tried all the same remedies as you to no avail.  You would think that restoring the Apple TV to factory settings would fix it, but you'd be wrong.  Wireless is not even an option because the device thinks it's still connected to the wireless.
