I have a 22" monitor hooked up to my Macbook Air via HDMI. However, it doesn't look as crisp as my laptop's screen. The monitor is set to "1080p" and is suppose to be an HD monitor.
Does anyone have any suggestions for fix this? I've googled around but haven't found any solution.

You can try adjusting the resolution of the external display. Open System Preferences > Displays, and choose the maximum resolution your monitor can use. As it's a HD monitor, it should allow high resolutions
Thanks for the quick response! But I just added to my post that my display is set to "1080p,"
In that case, you can't set up a higher resolution, so assume that's how it looks now. Out of curiosity, can you take a photo of how the monitor looks and upload it here?
So the pictures hardly show a difference, but both my friend and I agree that there is a clear differene the picture quality of my laptop and the monitor.

Try selecting 1080i. How does it look now?
The screen is literally shaking.
In that case, leave it in 1080p
Hazzah! I fixed it! Turns out it wasn't a mac related software issue but rather the software on the monitor had some dumb default settings regarding input. By changing them, things now appear HD.
