Q: When i reinstall os tiger on an old emac, it says that i need to choose a destination volume, however therenare no options, please help ?!?!?

My emac started up with not turning on, and just showing a grey screen with a flashing icon, the apple support told me to reinstall os tiger, so i did but when trying to install it asks me to selectba destination volume, however there are no options available please help ?!?!?

    Combing the flashing icon screen with an install disk's failure to find a sutiable destiation volume could indicate a failed hard drive.

     

    Are you using the gray system disk that came with your computer or a full retail install disk to try reinstalling? The gray disks from another Mac model will not work.
