No mouse pref pane in system preferences ??

I am using magic mouse on my iMac (24-inch Mid 2007) running 10.8.4.

I downloaded something called magic prefs hoping to get a better mouse experience, I hated it, so deleted it, but I think in my enthusiasum I deleted something that ran the normal magic mouse software. The mouse works fine (ish) but I have no preference pane for it in the system prefs.

I have tried to find a file to put this right but no luck.........I'd appreciate some help.

Open System Preferences again, go to View menu (on the menu bar) > Customize, and see if Mouse appears. If so, tick it.

You can reinstall OS X without any problem through Wi-Fi. As you upgraded to Mountain Lion, start in OS X, open the App Store, go to Purchases and download OS X. When the download finishes, the installer will appear, so follow the steps
