Question

Space +bar + + +

On my imac, every time I press the spacebar, a plus symbol appears. How do I stop this??? + + + + + + +

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Sounds more like a problem with the keyboard, than the keyboard shortcut preferences...

To check:

1. Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Short Cuts and Restore Defaults.

2. Open the Keyboard Viewer and test the keyboard by pressing different keys including the Space key. If both space and + are activated at the same time by the space bar, then the keyboard needs to be replaced.

see > One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond

I tired the above tip and it looks like the problem is my wired keyboard. I tried to restore the defaults and that did not work so I connected my bluetooth keyboard and it is working fine. I have never had a keyboard go bad like that. I guess it is time for a new one. I just wish Apple would make a wireless keyboard with the number pad on the right side like a normal keyboard. Strange

Apple keyboards n mice are over rated and over priced. There keyboards are hard to see in dim light and I use $20 Logitech MK120 - USB Keyboard & Mouse Combo's with all my Mac's.
