I am trying to buy a friend an album he keeps hinting that he wants. ** I already own it and whenever I go back to the itunes store to try to gift the album it doesnt come up asking me if i would like to gift the item. Thank you for all the future help in this matter.

Another poster said that if you sign out of your iTunes Store account, go to the track or album you wish to gift, and select "gift" and go through the purchase process, it will then ask you for your account information and send the gift. I haven't tried this myself, but it's worth a go.

If the "Gift this album" option isn't available, you could purchase an iTunes Gift Card or Certificate instead.
