Q: ipad icloud backup message frozen on screen

I cannot dismiss an iCloud Backup message stating "This iPad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi." Because I cannot dismiss the message I cannot select a wi-fi network to connect to, nor can I turn off the iPad. What can I do to unlock this frozen state?

Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.
