Q: Can't log in to iTunes Match from Mac

Hello!

Since yesterday, I can't log in to iTunes Match from iTunes on my Mac. I have no trouble at all from the iOS devices and I can even access the Store without problem: I have tried a lot of things: log out from my account, then log in, deactivate Match, then activate; unauthorize the computer, then authorize back, reinstall iTunes. I have followed every instructions from the Support section and nothing works. When I open iTunes, Match starts but keeps lagging on the first step, then stops, then starts again and so on...

Does anyone know what is going on and can I do, before using the backups from time machine?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

    Hi,

Have you tried holding shift key whilst signing out of match. This will clear genius and match cache. Now sign back into iTunes then activate match.

If this does not work, go to Safari and find and delete apple.com cookie. We you relaunch iTunes you will need to go through login procedures again.

    Hi Revecom,

having faced the same issue and looked at many ways to go around, it ended up being linked to cookies stored in Safari web browser.

If your safari prefs block cookies, then it will prevent itunes Match from loging in as it serch for this cookie on your system.

Try to change the setting (if not already done) to allow cookies (or Block cookies either "from 3rd parties..." or "never")

It stores apple-generated cookies which are needed for itunes and Appstore apps to also work properly.

Hope it will fix it for you too

    Y.
