If your anything like me, its in your pocket all the time; try cleaning out the receptacle with a needle, toilet paper, and rubbing alcohol.

squeeze excess alcohol off the paper before you do it, and don't force things, there are 8 contact pins in there. I was a little surprised

how dirty the paper was. Worked for me.

I came to this forum with the same problem. I checked the receptacle in my iPhone5s, and it was clean. I then tried my wife's phone charger and Lightning cable, and the problem disappeared. Hm. (FYI, it resumed charging.) I then decided to try MY Lightning cable in her (Apple) charger. No problem. I then took my Lightning cable and my iPhone back to a multi-slot (4) charger, which I have been using for some time without problem. Oh, Oh. The beep came back. So, I dug up my original Apple single-port charger, plugged it into my surge protector strip, and my problem disappeared. It went on to fully charge my iPhone5s.

Conclusion: the Phone (5s) may be VERY sensitive to input voltage (5v), and at some point in time my multi-port (4) charger wandered away from a precise five volts.

I don't propose that this is THE answer to the "beeping" problem. However, I venture that, somewhere along that voltage trail, something has gone amiss. Check out the easy parts first (like I did.) You may be happily surprised.

I am not aware of anything with iTunes 11 and battery charging. I use iTunes 11 and have not experienced any changes in charging. I use both the mains and the computer at times.

It could be the USB does not have enough power to charge. Is it on the computer itself, or is this a hub. A hub can experience a drop in power, the further away it is from the main connection.

Using a charger that doesn't provide enough power will simply result in the phone not charging. It won't cause beeping. The beeping is caused when the charge disconnects and reconnects repeatedly. It's usually either a bad charger or something stuck in the charging port. Both of those things were mentioned two years ago when the thread was last active.

I don't quite see the point of responding to a 3 year old post, and will incorrect information at that.

The USB adapter (it isn't a charger- the charger is in the phone) that comes with an iPhone can supply 1A, so clearly 1A is enough to charge an iPhone or Apple would not include a 1A adapter in the iPhone package.
