I think I am waiting for some contracts to sign prior to taking the next step in publishing my paid book. I've been waiting more than a month. Does that seem right??

You do not get "physical" contracts... and without an EIN number - you will not get a paid account active.

If you had a free book account - Apple will require you to open a second account for a paid book account.

Assuming you are have that you can apply for a paid account.

You need an EIN tax file number from the USA.

Most people telephone the IRS office to obtain an EIN number - which is given verbally..they then take about 2 weeks to make your ID available - which is when Apple confirm it.

Once you have your EIN number, you then need to open yuour iTunes Connect account and second down on the left you will see the Contracts, Tax and Banking link.

You then need to go into this and fill in the banking details, tax info- you have to fill in the USA tax forms, ignore the Canadian and Australia unless you are a national of one!

Some if not all need an IBAN number from their bank - I am not sure if its a global requirement or specific to certain countries so you need to ask your bank.

After you filled in and submitted the forms - if there are issues you will be notified... if not start uploading your book!

Its advisable to download the EIN application form from the IRS website - fill it in before you phone and use it as a reference.

I suggest you search the forum for EIN, USA Tax, and you will find teh telephone number and a few threads which may help you.
