separately synching devices with Icloud

How do you synch devices separately with I cloud. In other words, I want to synch my reminders/contacts/calanders with my devices and my wife would like to do the same, however, we would like to share our Gmail calander and contacts.

If you want to share Gmail contacts and calendars iCloud wouldn't be involved. All you would need to do to accomplish that is to set up Google calendars and contacts on both devices, and they would work independently of your iCloud data. This explains how to add your Google contacts: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4872. This explains how to add your Google calendars: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/151674?hl=en.

If you have separate iCloud accounts, your iCloud data will remain separated. You will need to decide which account you want as your default when you add new contacts and calendar events, iCloud or Google. Select this in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account in the Contacts and Calendars sections.
