Trackpad won't click and drag

I have a 15" MacBook Pro 5,4 A1286 MC118LL/A

Does anyone have MacBook Pro repair experience? I had trackpad issues and replaced my trackpad but it still does not work properly.

Specifically I can't click and drag. I can set it for 3 finger drag but the regular click and drag does not work nor does the click and drag to select text etc. Also at log in I can't click to select my user log in. I have to use the arrows and return to select it to log in. I have a 15" MacBook Pro MC118LL/A Model Identifier 5,4 A1286 (EMC 2324*)

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), 8GB RAM, 1TB HD
