Apple says image retention is not an issue on the new iMacs?

Here is the problem. With 27" imacs, there are multiple windows open at one point, and a proper user uses these applications all at once. IN order to follow Apple's direction to not see this retention, we can only use out computers for ten minutes at a time, and then have to turn on the screen saver??? Or work in Full Screen mode?

How does this make sense? <----- rhetorical

Has anyone else seen this issue? What was the reaction of Apple to your service request? How has the machine operated since the repair?

Image retention/ghosting is most certainly still an issue on the 27" Late 2012 iMacs. We got one in a few days ago that has that problem. If you purchased the iMac directly from Apple, contact them and request replacement of the iMac. They didn't even hesitate to replace the one I got a couple of months ago, though I don't know the status of the one we just got last week. If you purchased from a dealer, you'll need to try to arrange a return and replacement through the dealers.

Do not accept a response of "this is normal" and a redirect to the article you refer to above. The "ghosting" problem with the 27" 2012 iMac is absolutely not normal and any iMac exhibiting that problem should be returned to Apple.

Regards.
