Q: Loss of video output...
Morning!
Today I attempted to start my late '05 G5 and use it for some music transferring... but no display?!? Tower functioned properly... heard it boot, HDD clicking, then everything settled down even fans like it was up and running and waiting for activity... but no display. Tried the other video port on the card... nothing.
It's the original card. I had installed a Radeon off of eBay and had it in for a couple years then that card went 'poof'! Re-installed the original and had been working fine for years after... not sure whether tp buy another or drop it off some where.
I found an old thread, but all the links in it are broken leading to docs on apple's site.
NOTE: I ensured monitor is working by plugging it into my work Dell... only difference is that I did not use the DVI connector, had to use the old VGA. Is it possible that the DVI connector or cord could be bad??? I have no way to test the cord...
Thanks in advance...

OM-Effing-G!!!!
fixed... and I wanted to post what I found in here to possibly help anyone else...
For sh!ts & giggles today I decided to try one last attempt at my video problem. To me AMAZEMENT it is working 100% perfectly now! ... but not without doing something to it.
For anyone that has experienced this... FIRST, seek out your monitor's manufacturer but not their website, search forums. I have a Viewsonic 2025wm, which is an awesome monitor and thought there was no way it could fail?!?! ... well, it did! but a factory reset fixed it!
I found a link (Viewsonic VX2025wm DVI input problem & factory reset - AnandTech ...) that explained there is a HIDDEN MENU that allows you to access extra features... one of which is a factory reset!!! so I did it an VIOLA! works fine...
since July I have written this thing off even going as far as thinking my old video card was bad... well, it was the monitor!!!!!
