You cannot Airplay Mirror a DVD playing on your computer to the Apple TV, if you can import the movie into iTunes, may have to be converted, then you should be able to play it.

Thank you for answereing to my questions.

Regret to inform you that (1) I do not know how to copy the contents of a CD into Itunes, and that (2) I tried FINDER to copy the contents of the CD to a folder named my movies, without success.

Depending on the DVD's you have you might be able to convert directly through iTunes by following:

Regret to inform you that this did not work. The link provided only information on converting audio CD's. I have a video CD.

This checkerboard arising when attempting to send the full screen to the Apple TV is very annoying.

I have the same problem, I was startiing to watch the dvd movie via apple tv from my macbook, but the dvd player, just went black. One of the main reason of apple tv is to do that, I have no idea why it doesn´t work.

Can anybody help me on this !😟
