How can I turn off playing music while importing

How can I turn off playing music while importing

I have iTunes 11 and am importing music but want to NOT listen to it as I import = I've checked all settings etc. and can't find where 'pkay while importing' is selected. Where do I find that??

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5), 17G RAM

I think maybe what is happening is when I import, it just starts up playing whatever it wants in the Music library not necessarily the importing CD -- is there a way to turn that off? Thanks
