Problem after update on ATV2

I recently updated my ATV2 and on restart it got stuck setting date and time. It worked fine before the update, and all of my other devices (Macbook Air, iPod Touch) work fine. Any suggestions?

Hi, Roger.

I had this same issue and what worked for me was power cycling my wireless network and the Apple TV. However, if the issue persists, here are a couple articles that will walk you through troubleshooting this issue.

I have tried all suggested fixes for this, and it still isn't connecting. Is there any truth to the rumor that some Gen3 ATVs are just faulty and are being replaced?

My serial number fits that list, but when I typed that into the online support page at apple, it said no luck for help.

I just got this thing a little over a year ago, so the warranty is just expired. Great time for it to crap out.

Roger,

The issue is actually network or settings related not hardware. TCP port 123 is used to communicate with a network time server. If your router is blocking this port it will never set the time. You can hit the menu key on your remote which will bring you to the main Apple TV menu. There will need to be some adjustments to settings made on the router side.
