Hi Julie - I had the same problem when I downloaded iCloud on my laptop and then synced iCloud with Outlook.  All of my contacts were missing from Outlook.  Just now, I got into Outlook, clicked on Contacts.  On the upper left side, you should see iCloud.  Right click on it.  It will give you options if you want to move or copy your contacts.  I chose "copy".  Then just click on where you want them copied to.  I clicked on Outlook.  When you do that, all of your contacts will be back where they belong in your Outlook Contacts folder.

Thank you for your information, I see that I still have contacts under my "contacts" tab on the side however, I wish to put all my contacts in my "Outlook address book" so that I can retrieve contacts from the "to:" bar.  Does anyone know why or how to get them back?

Copy them from one to the other.

No copy paste does not work. Thank you.  However HURRAY  I figured it out.  Go to contacts on the side....  go to the contacts from icloud you want...right click...choose properties ...choose outlook address tab ...check the box "show this folder as an email address book".  This will have it back up in your outlook address book when you open it. HURRAY ...again copy paste does not work.

Yes I know, that's why I did not suggest that you paste them.

Really, Csound1??? How do you copy without pasting?  Your solution was not correct.

The problem here is that you don't know how to use Outlook.

Copy To Folder is an inbuilt Outlook command, you should have used it to move the contacts, there is no pasting involved.

    Read the documentation for Outlook.

The Contacts folder in Outlooks personal folders, isn't that where you want them?

Your Outlook Address Book is the folder in your Personal folders (as I just said)

Have you just started using Outlook? you seem to know very little about it.

    Outlook:

Local folders are in the group Personal Folders, iCloud folders are in the group iCloud.

If you have merely marked the iCloud folder as an email address book (as you said before) you have not moved the folders at all, further problems will emerge. But as you are adamant that you have done what you need to I will bow out now.

    Good luck

No, it was accurate, which is what this place is all about. I note that you have yet to offer any accurate advice, when do you plan on starting?

You can be accurate and not rude, all at the same time.  What I said to her was accurate, and I didn't feel the need to be rude to her at all.
