When i open up itunes on mac, i go to store and it says:

Item not avaialble

The item you've requested is not currently available in the UK Store.

Does anyone know how to fix this? i am a frequent user of the itunes store and its really frustrating

Yes.

Look around. Others are seeing this as well.

Be patient, itunes will correct their issue.
