Q: Parallels and kernel panics

My iMac restarts spontaneously after Sleep.  Can Parallels cause kernel panics?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

    If you are using an old version, it can be the cause of these kernel panics.

     

    After restarting the Mac because of a kernel panic, you will see a window that tells you that the Mac restarted because of a problem. Press the "Report" button and copy the information you see in the white box here. It has got the information we need to see what the problem is.

    Are you sure you're getting a kernel panic and not just a random reboot? If it's a random reboot, I'd reset the SMC (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964).

    I have (a) reinstalled MacOS 10.8.4, (b) verified the start-up disk, (c) repaired disk permissions.  Running out of options.

    Definitely kernel panic: I get that warning in six languages, followed by the restart.

    Parallels is now up to date.  I have also updated Crossover.  Kernel panic on recovery from Sleep is still there.  My next trick will be to uninstall Parallels, I think.
