That's what Apple Support is good for, in your case ...
Apple Support
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar

Nov 16, 2014 6:09 AM in response to Star Travelerby andmaria,I went to the Genius Bar two weeks ago and the person who "took care of me" simply said my iPad was dead and would not work again because the screen hardware has faulty, I decided not to give up and tried to charge it two days ago, and the screen turn on!! It went from error 4005 to error 3194 and now no error it's just stuck on that screen every time and itunes on the same message.

Feb 10, 2015 12:28 AM in response to mirpatrby MexicoMandy,Oh thank you thank you thank you!
This was the advice I needed. No one else specified to hold onto the home button until the iTunes icon appeared. You brought my iPad back to life and my life back to iPad.

May 6, 2015 7:50 AM in response to anmlvrby crawfb22,Sadly still experiencing this problem on my iPad 3 despite trying all the excellent tips given here. Even iTunes won't recognise my iPad when I connect it to my PC via USB. Is there anything else I can try? I did phone Apple Support but they want a lot of money to even talk to me.

Aug 6, 2015 4:11 PM in response to pirozby Debra Helm,Hello,
I am not sure if you still visit this website, but my ipad "died" last night and I tried everything. I was heartbroken. I use it all the time. Today at work I did some web searching and came across your post. I saw that it helped people and I couldn't wait to get home and try it. It might seem silly but I have seen miracles in my life and I consider this one of them. I couldn't really afford to have it fixed. I had scheduled an appt. with an apple store which I am VERY happy to cancel. I just wanted to reach out and thank you. You made my day!!! Completely and totally!!! I appreciate you!
Sincerely,
Fellow ipad user

Mar 26, 2016 2:53 AM in response to anmlvrby loisfromdurban,Hi,
I noticed that if you are using Windows and are getting the (6) error, it may help to open Windows Explorer, when updating your iPad. I think it activates the the connection between iPad and USB port. Also make sure you have logged in to iTunes with your Apple account.
