My iMac is making weird clicking noises when i first open a browser and continues sporadically with kinda screeching sounds. Also at start up I get a blue screen now? Has anyone had these similar problems out there and what did you do to fix them?

These clicking noises often come from the hard drive and may indicate that the hard drive is dying.
First, make a backup of your data with Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner onto an external drive. Then, open Disk Utility (in /Applications/Utilities), choose Macintosh HD in the sidebar, and verify the disk. What does it say? Also, you can check the SMART status in Disk Utility, selecting the hard drive at the top of the sidebar and looking at the bottom of the Disk Utility window.
If it tells you that SMART has failed or that the disk is damaged, take the iMac to an Apple Store or reseller to get the hard drive replaced

Hi,
I have run Tech Tool Pro 6 and Disk Utility with no evident problems coming up. It says everything is ok. So I am quite confused as to the probelm being my hardrive. I want to know for sure that's what it is before replacing it.
Do you live close to an Apple Store? I would take it in ASAP. Clicking noises on a HD, is never good, regardless of TTP6 or even DU.
As mende recommended, did you check the SMART status in DU?
Before you do ANYTHING backup your computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then listen to Failing hard drive sounds and determine if your computer sounds like any of these, if it does take it in to be repaired before doing anything else with it. You can use your backup to restore the computer so you don't lose your valuable data such as photos, music, financial records, etc...
Unfortunately I don't live close to an apple store. I did check SMART status in Disk Utility and it was verified. All checks including Apple Hardware test check out. Says everything is fine.
I replaced my hardrive and its way louder now. Sounds like a PC tower. I dont know what to think anymore.
