Q: icloud backup

I've got the message about iCloud Backup not having occurred for six weeks, and I can't follow any advice about how to resolve the issue because the machine immediately goes dead when I press OK, or try to unlock the screen

iPad, iOS 6.1.4

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities

Hold Sleep and Home buttons for 10 seconds until the iPad restarts, so you will be able to use the device again

Where do I find the sleep and home buttons?

The Sleep button is the one you use when you stop using your Mac, and you can find it at the top right part of the iPad. The Home button is the one you press to get back to the homescreen, and you can find it at the bottom of the display

I am using an iPad. I have an on/off button currently at the right of my screen. I have the word iPad and an icon which I presume is meant to symbolise WiFi cannection next to it.In the top right, there's a symol which looks a little like the Chi-Rho symbol and next to it is 90% and the batttery nearly full symbol

On the screen at the top is the time and date.

On the screen in the middle is the error message with an OK button

On the screen at the bottom is the Slide to Unlock symbol which doesn't work, and a symbol which looks like a flower.

If I press the On/Off button for more than a second or so, I get asked What can I help you with, but that doesn't respond.

    Any thoughts?

You have to press the On/Off button (that's the Sleep button) and the Home button (below the display). This is the Home button:

Hold them at the same time for 10 seconds until your device restarts

I think I'be got it back. It's installing something so it's going toswitch itself off and on again, but hopefully that will have resolved the problem.

    Many thanks for all that.
