How do I permanently turn off Facebook notifications?

Question

How do I permanently turn off Facebook notifications?

Notification Center keeps switching my Facebook alert style from "None" to "Banners," and I have to keep turning them back off. Why is this happening? (I'm using 10.8.2.)

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Try dragging the Facebook to Not in Notification Center and then dragging it back to the In Notification Center area and selecting None.

You can also try going to Mail, Contacts, & Calendars, deleting your Facebook account and add it back.

Sometimes a simple reset will fix a problem.
