Find WiFi Signal Strength from iOS App

Hi,

I am looking to develop an iOS App that would measure the WiFi signal strength in the current location. I see many discussions around the Web posted around the year 2010 which say that this is not possible in iOS (they say AppStore review usually rejects such Apps), whereas some sites seem to point out to APIs which fetch WiFi signal strength. Is this possible? Since the discussions I found are only saying about the situation in the year 2010, it may not project the current situation correctly. Before proceeding with the development, I want to make sure.
