Controlling two different software instruments using one MIDI

I have one MIDI controller, with 49 keys (4 octaves), I want to:

- control instrument number 1 (for example piano) using first two octaves

- control instrument number 2 (for example synth) using second two octaves

I'd also love to be able to control in what octave I'm playing, for example I want to play octave 3 and 4 on the piano (using octave 1 and 2 on my MIDI), and octave 1 and 2 on the synth (using the MIDI's octave 3 and 4)

Is that possible to set up in logic?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
