Q: I've recently been given an eMac, but when I try to boot it I get the following- panic(cpu 0): Unable to find driver for this platform "Powermac 4,4"
Recently I was given an eMac that had been sitting in a cupboard for a couple of years.; When I tried to power it up I was getting all kinds of noise at first. I checked all connections that I could, then checked that the memory was correctly inserted into the memory banks, they wernt, so re fitted them then all the weird noises went.
Now when I try to start the Mac I get the first chime then the machine stops with the following error message . . .
panic(cpu 0): Unable to find driver for this platform "Powermac 4,4"
I've been away from Mac for a few years now and would love to shove my PC back in the cupboard where it belongs, so if someone could help me get my eMac going I'd be real happy,.
Thanks
eMac, eMac no idea if it had OS X
