Hi there

I want to change my contacts so they are all in first letter first name order like they are on my phone. I have googled similiar questions but people have said look up a file and drag it into your desktop. I dont understand this. only just bought a mac and its very confusing. Where are such files? when i open the address book where is the preferences tab or option as I cant even see it?? any help appreciated, spent far too much time on this already.

I am guessing you are using Tiger because this is the Tiger community disscussion.

1. In Address Book or Contacts (either) click the menu next to the Apple logo in the top left

2. Click Preferences...

3. It should be one of the options in that window, probably called "Sort Order"

I do notknow where this screen shot is I cannot find it anywhere. WhenI open my contacts it is just a book with names. When I look in the system preferences there are no preference options availble. How do i get to that screen above?
