If you want to send someone an album (or song) you can normally click the drop down on the BUY button in the itunes store and select "gift this item"
However if you have previoulsy purchased the album (or song) the BUY button says PURHCASED and the "Gift this item" option is no longer there?

Another poster said that if you sign out of your iTunes Store account, go to the album you wish to gift, and select "gift" and go through the purchase process, it will then ask you for your account information and send the gift. I haven't tried this myself, but it's worth a go.

Thank you 🙂 - such a simple solution - it worked fine - though is a bit crazy you have to log out of your account to select the gift and then log back in... I guess too much to ask Apple to make it easy 🙂
