My MacBook Pro will not wake from sleep mode. The power cord works fine. I tried pressing the power button to restart but that is not working, the computer would not come out of sleep mode and turn on. What do you think is the problem and what can I do?

If the computer wont wake up, you can hold down the power button for 10 seconds to shut it down.
Then you can reset the smc. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964.
It fixes stuff like if the computer doesn't respond to the power button.
Then turn it on like normal and test it out.

Thank you. I tried to shut down and reset the smc on the computer. However, it would not start up. In fact, the sleep button came on when I pressed the power button after I reset the smc.
My MacBook Pro will not awaken from sleep mode.
