Mail settings 'Incoming Mail Server' address

On mail preferences, the computer does not allow me to enter an 'Incoming Mail Server' address. I can not enter anything into the field that has 'mail.example.com' in it. Any suggestions?

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)
