Open  > About this Mac, and tell me which OS X version you are running.

If it's 10.7 or 10.8, open  > About this Mac > More Info > Storage, and you will be able to access to the space of the hard drive and what takes the space. See > http://pondini.org/OSX/LionStorage.html

If it's 10.6 or earlier, open Disk Utility (in /Applications/Utilities) and select Macintosh HD in the sidebar. You will see the amount of space used at the bottom of Disk Utility

I looked all over and tried a bunch of different methods. About this Mac>More info>Storage tab was the best and easiest way to find it for me!

Niel puts those numbers in his posts himself. Over the years, the Apple forums have gone through at least three software changes. Each time, your post count either started over, or in the case of one switch, your post count total was wrong.

What Niel does is keep track of an actual post total since he started helping on Apple's forms since the post count the software shows under his name is not accurate.

I don't normally pay attention to it myself. I just now noticed that Jive (the software used here) only shows your point total. The previous software would show your total post count. That isn't even shown here.
