If you are travelling overseas and need to purchase an item from the iTunes Store in say the UK, how do you set up an account so that my iPhone will allow the download from the UK store. I currently have an Australian iTunes account.

Hi Moo222,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

Here's how to change the signed-in iTunes Store account and country on your iPhone:

iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store Apple ID account

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311

Change your iTunes Store country

Sign in to the account for the iTunes Store region you'd like to use. Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID: > View Apple ID > Country/Region.

User uploaded file

Follow the onscreen process to change your region, agree to the terms and conditions for the region if necessary, and then change your billing information.

Regards,

Jeremy

If you are just travelling and not moving to the UK, do not attempt to change your iTunes Store account to the UK store. You would need a valid UK payment method and billing/mailling address to make the change, and would then have to repeat the process to switch back to the Australian iTunes Store when you get back to Australia. You would then be cut off from updates to any apps you purchased in the UK store.

If you do have a valid UK payment method and billing address, it would be much more practical to just set up a new account in the UK iTunes Store and leave your Australian account as it is.

Regards.
