iPad Logic Remote never connects

I have installed Logic Pro X with all additional content. I installed the ipad remote app on my iPad Mini. They are on the same network.

When I launch Logic Pro X it runs fine, when I start the iPad app it never finds my mac.

I have tried manually adding it as a control surface, no change. I have restarted both devices. Opened the app before and after the application launch. Deleted the extra surface control I had just created (currently at No Devices).

Any suggestions?

Logic Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), Ipad Mini 6.1.3

How is your Wifi network set up? Plain Airport or something more complex? You don't see your Mac inside Logic Remote? Then Bonjour doesn't seem to work.

Something more complex. I have a TPLink wifi router, the mac mini connects to the router via lan. the ipad mini connects via wifi.

I have tried the mac mini on the same wifi and it has not made a difference.

Ok now it works...

I still can't get it working reliably over wifi on the mac mini. I am blaming the wifi router for that.

I turned on file sharing and screen sharing in the preferences on the Mac. Not sure if this caused it to work or not. but only after doing this was I able to "find" my mac on the app.

Can't seem to get it working via either wifi or bluetooth... The connection is realised but I have no control from logic remote - it must shows the elapsed playtime on the LR LCD
