IPOD Classic 160GB Purchased Late 2012 Some Movies Purchased ITunes will not let me convert

I have an IPOD Classic 160GB Purchased in Late 2012 and I am finding that some of the movies i buy with digital copy for ITunes will not let me sync with this IPOD some ITunes will convert for me but I have some movies that when I try to convert them to ipod format the option is greyed out will not let me make an SD version for my IPOD why is this and if Apple is no longer supporting the IPOD classic for all the movies I purchase why is it that I can still go into Target or another major retailer and still purchase this device. I paid for the IPOD Classic 160GB I paid for the movie **** it I just want what I paid for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why doesn't apple just lift all restrictions on music period. They're squeezing every ******* penny they can get off ya, and if we've got the music to listen to, then just let us listen to it. What you think? We're gonna be out there pirating music?? Really??? I have an iPod classic 160 GB, doesn't have **** on it!!! All I want to do is take my favorite songs and put them on the classic iPod! And yet I still support apple by, buying, there ****!!! Give us a break will ya, ****?

Apple stopped selling DRM protected music in 2009. The new Apple Music service however includes it as it works on a subscription model. You can download and steam almost all songs in the iTunes Store for as long as your subscription remains active. DRM is the enforcement mechanism to stop you making copies or playing the tracks once the subscription is over. The iPod classic cannot be used for Apple Music content. The hardware isn't suitable for the DRM scheme.

Howdy mkennedy27,

I found this article while researching what you are describing called iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1497?viewlocale=en_US

This section in particular:

Other video sources

If you did not purchase videos from the iTunes Store, they may not be in a format that you can play on your iPhone/iPod. In many cases, you can convert them to the correct format using iTunes or QuickTime.

Using iTunes: Select a video and choose Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version

The iPod Classic does not support high definition video: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP572

If it is available, you can download the standard definition version of the movie to sync to your iPod Classic. However since movies and TV shows purchased from the iTunes Store (this includes all "digital copies" as well) are restricted by DRM they can not be converted.
