Logic Remote iPad app not working

I've have Logic Pro X installed on Mountain Lion and the latest IOS on an iPad (3rd gen) running Logic Remote but can't get them to work together.

After I choose the Mac pop up boxes keep appearing with either an option to re-connect to Mac or the attached error. (In the backround I can see the clock ticking that's synced with the Logic project playing on the Mac?

I've never had any problems with my wi fi and all the other apps work fine (including other controller apps that communicate with Logic Pro 9?)

I've tried removed the iPad from the Control Surface Setup page in Logic Pro X and selecting it again from the iPad app (which re-adds it correctly into the Setup in Logic Pro X)

Any ideas?

Same problem here. I tried the solutions provided - to no avail. I also tried a few of my own troubleshooting tricks - also no luck. Hopefully a fix is on the way. I'd love to try this out. It seems to be getting great reviews from those who are blessed to have it working.

Actually i've just solved my problem.

Go to "Control Surfaces" in "Logic Pro X" menu. Then "setup"

My Ipad was listed. Logic needs to authorize the ipad.

I did this by removing the ipad and installing it as a device again. Logic then asked if I wanted the ipad to be authorized to control Logic.

There might be a way to do this without deleting the ipad listed and just authorising it, but hope this helps.

It should normally authorize automatically.

My fix ended up being... Disarming my firewall!

I also saw on a similar thread that people got theirs' working by enabling file sharing.

This can all be done in the System Preferences on your Mac.

Amazingly this worked, thanks. I'd already removed and let it add automatically a few times and it didn't work properly even after authorizing it.

I removed it from the setup and then added it back in manually myself (New, Install, Apple Logic Remote).

Then I ran the iPad app, and I ended up with 2 Logic remotes in the Control Surfaces Setup. The iPad logic remote wasn't coming up with any errors but all the faders were on 0 when they weren't on the Logic Pro X on the mac.

I then deleted the first Logic Remote in the Control Surfaces Setup and it seems to work. Thanks!

Well it worked for 5 minutes. It's back with the Poor Network Performance error now. At least I got to see what it can do and it does look good.

I already have 'File Sharing' enabled on the MAC, but will try some other network settings. Maybe I need a new router? (this would seem strange as it's fine for everything else?)

I create a network for my ipad, then mac and ipad connect using adhoc wifi without network performance errors.

Worked for a couple of seconds then "Poor Network Performance". The fix for me was to change a Firewall setting. System Preferences - Security - Firewall - Firewall Options - then unchecked the box "Block All Incoming Connections" Works great now! Hope this helps!

It seems that if you have a previous install of logic and you had control surfaces set up logic X copies these over. You should delete all these other surfaces and then run the remote setup. Worked for me 😁
