OSX stocks app?
Is there a way to add the stocks app that comes with the OS X operating system to the iPad mini the same stocks app that comes with OSX on iPhone?
iMac (27-inch Late 2009), iOS 6, if it's Apple I have it or want it!e

There's no Stocks app for OS X. OS X has got stocks but as a widget, not app. This widget can only run in Dashboard on a Mac, not on a iPad, so you can't transfer it to your iPad. You have to search for one application in the App Store
Not teh specific stocks app available for OS X or the iPhone (in iOS it is built in, but only for iPhone). There are numerous srock apps in the app store however - many of them free - as well as a variety of apps that include stock reports in addition to other features. The closest to the iPhone app is probably MarketDash by Yahoo.
I have been using that stocks app for years it would be nice to use the same one on the iPad thanks anyways.
Unfortunately, if Apple hasn't released Stocks for iPad, we can't do anything
MarketDash and the OS X widget (and iPhone app) are not identical, but Yahoo provides the data for the iPhone version (and presumably had a hand in its development), so they are close. I haven't touched the stock widget in OS X in years, so don't really know how it is layed out.
The OS X Stocks widget is very close to the iOS Stocks app, so the iPhone app looks like a simple adaptation for the iPhone
I figured as much, but didn't have a point of reference to verify.
I am giving that Yahoo app a try. What I don't like about it is the ads, but it's fairly close. Thanks again.
You're welcome
